Course Information
Description	Intended for Non STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) majors. Topics include introductory treatments of sets and logic, financial mathematics, probability and statistics with appropriate applications. Number sense, proportional reasoning, estimation, technology, and communication should be embedded throughout the course. Additional topics may be covered. This is a corequisite taken only with MATH 1332 in the same semester/ part of term.
Required Textbooks	Textbook Purchasing Statement: A student attending Lamar State College Port Arthur is not under any obligation to purchase a textbook from the college-affiliated bookstore. The same textbook may also be available from an independent retailer, including an online retailer. There is no additional textbook requirement for this corequisite support section.

Grading Scale	This course is offered on a Pass/Fail Basis: SD = Pass UD = Fail
Determination of Final Grade	Your Pass/Fail status for this course will be tied to your performance in MATH 1332. A passing grade in MATH 1332 will earn you a passing mark (SD) in this course. Likewise, a failing grade in MATH 1332 will earn you a failing mark (UD) in this course.
Course Policies
Instructor Policies	Students must meet with the Title V Success Coach, Nini Tran, some time before September 15 to discuss time management, general study skills, and tutoring resources, and will work with Ms. Tran to produce a "game plan" for succeeding throughout the rest of the semester. This "game plan" for success should be put (briefly) in writing and emailed to your instructor soon after meeting with Nini Tran. Students should meet the goals of this success plan by attending regular tutoring sessions throughout the semester, either through tutor.com, or on-campus with the Title V tutor, Gabriela Ghorayeb, in the Ruby Fuller building or with your instructor in their office.
Attendance Policy	Since this is an online course and we will not be meeting in person, the rate and pace of attendance is left somewhat up to the student. It is the sole responsibility of the student to make sure that they are current and up to date in the material and to participate in all posted assignments and activities, and they are expected to do so out of their own desire to learn and succeed. The student's online participation will be observed to an extent, and for any borderline cases of assigning final grades, this record will be taken into consideration.

COVID 19 Information	The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition directly to their local health department. Students should also contact their course faculty to report their quarantine status. In addition, this policy requires all students to wear face coverings when directly exposed to COVID 19 in compliance with the criteria included in the policy. Facility Policies	No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
